Antibiotic Resistance.

Assalamualaikum WBT.

Today in class.
Antibiotic resistance - ' a risk as big as terrorism'

Haha, sounds disturbing? No, you don't have to feel that way.
I always have that problem. Well, being the minority muslims in class.
I always felt as if everyone is talking about me, especially when I walk passed them and they suddenly laughed.
Sometimes I will be the only one sitting on that one row in the class.
They even 'forgot' to pass me the signing in sheet, in a bus! -.-
But hey, you are what you showed them.
They won't talk bad things about you if you didn't do bad things.
They won't stay away from you if you are friendly with them.
They won't missed me in the bus, if I asked for the sheet. Haha.

So, if you are NOT a terrorist, then you ARE NOT a terrorist.
Why do you have to feel as if they are talking about you when terrorism is mentioned?

Alright, back to the Antibiotic Resistance.

The simplified story is,
When we get sick, we take antibiotics. The antibiotics will kill the bacteria that causes the disease.
But some bacteria are so intelligent masyaAllah, that they can transform themselves, via gene transfer.
Thus, when the transformed bacteria infect a person, the same antibiotic can no longer kill them.
That is Antibiotic Resistance.
That is why you have to finish any antibiotics given by doctors, to prevent antibiotic resistance from occurring.

Okay, enough of Biology.

Now, put ourselves as the bacteria, and the antibiotics as the problems in our life.

When we encounter any difficulties, problems, changes.
We tend to get carried away by the sadness, the depressed feeling, emotions etc.
Sometimes we forgot that we have a far better option.
Face the problems, transform and solve it.
New problems come? Transform again, and solve the problems.
In that way, we may become Problem Resistance maybe?
Heheh.

And sometimes, we forgot that we have an undeniable Super Power to rely on.
We have Allah The Almighty.

When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them); I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me; let them also with a will listen to My call and believe in Me; that they may walk in the right way. (Al-Baqarah: 186)

Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden (of Bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah?" Ah! verily the help of Allah is (always) near! (Al-Baqarah: 214)

Sometimes, trials and problems are ways for us to become much closer to Allah.
Because, the reality is, we human will easily remember Allah in difficult times.
Only few of us can actually remember Allah at ALL times. Y_Y

That's it for now.
From Me To You.
May Allah bless.

=)
